The e-Aadhaar PDF password is the first 4 letters of your name in CAPITAL letters followed by your year of birth. For Suresh Kumar born in 1989, the password is SURE1989. This is the format published by UIDAI for e-Aadhaar downloads.
Want to skip the typing? Our Aadhaar PDF unlocker builds the password from your name and birth year and saves an unlocked copy, all inside your browser. Your Aadhaar is never uploaded.
Examples
| Name on Aadhaar | Year of birth | Password |
|---|---|---|
| Suresh Kumar | 1989 | SURE1989 |
| Priya Sharma | 2001 | PRIY2001 |
| Mohammed Arif | 1995 | MOHA1995 |
| K. Ravi | 1978 | KRAV1978 |
When the password does not work
- Check the spelling on the card, not how you usually write your name. “Mohd” and “Mohammed” give different passwords.
- Ignore spaces and dots. Only letters count.
- Use capitals. Passwords are case-sensitive:
sure1989will fail. - Use the year only, not the full date of birth.
- Short names: if your name has fewer than 4 letters, try the whole name followed by the year.
- Very old downloads may follow an older format. Download a fresh e-Aadhaar from UIDAI if nothing works.
Should you remove the password?
An unlocked copy is easier to upload to forms and print, but anyone who gets the file can open it. Two safer habits:
- Share a masked Aadhaar where you can. It hides the first 8 digits. You can download a masked version from UIDAI, or redact the number on a copy you already have.
- Don’t upload your Aadhaar to random PDF websites. Most of them process files on their servers. Tools that work in your browser, like ours, never receive the file. Here is how to check any site in 30 seconds.
