Questions
How much smaller will my images get?
Phone photos usually shrink by 60–85% at the Golden level with no visible change. Screenshots and PNG graphics often shrink by 50–75% with smart colour reduction.
Can I compress an image to an exact size in KB?
Yes. Type the limit in Target size, for example 50 or 100 KB. Each image gets the highest quality that fits, and the pixels shrink only when quality alone is not enough.
Does PNG compression keep transparency?
Yes. PNGs are compressed by reducing them to a smart palette of up to 256 colours, the same idea TinyPNG uses, and transparent areas stay transparent. Saving as WebP also keeps transparency.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs in your browser with the canvas and a small PNG encoder. Turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads and it still works.
Is the location data removed?
Yes. Compressed images are re-encoded, so EXIF data such as GPS location and camera model is not carried over. If an image is already smaller than anything we can make, we keep the original file and say so.
How many images can I compress at once?
Up to 10 images and 50 MB per batch on the free plan. Pro removes the limits.
