Questions

Is it free to edit text in a PDF?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up and no watermark. The free plan covers up to 50 tasks a day; Pro removes every limit.

Do you upload my files?

No. The tool runs inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your device, and it still works with Wi-Fi turned off.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. It works in Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and Linux.

Is the old text really gone?

Usually yes: the original words are removed from the page, and we check the result. If a line cannot be removed safely (for example text inside a graphic), it is covered with the page colour instead and we tell you; use Redact PDF on those words if they must be gone for good.

Will the new text use the same font?

It uses the closest standard font with the same style: sans-serif, serif or monospace, bold or italic, in the original size and colour. Unusual brand fonts are swapped for the closest match. This tool is in beta.

Can I edit a scanned PDF?

A scan is a picture with no text. Run OCR PDF first to recognise the text, or use Edit PDF to cover and write on top.
